Q&A

What made you want to travel?

I enjoy exploring and meeting new people, so I found backpacking to be the best way to do that. I quit my job back home, gave up my rental apartment and came overseas. Making new memories and having new experiences really excites me.

Where has been your favourite place in Europe?

Berlin. The people there are so interesting, as is the arts and culture. There’s so much to do and you can never get bored.

What has been the best thing you’ve eaten?

LIDL sells the best appelflaps in the Netherlands and Germany. For €1 you can buy these triangles of goodness served warm, and best of all, they’re even vegan!

What is your favourite thing about the Pig?

The people. Both the staff and travellers are such wholesome, welcoming and friendly people who create such a tight-knit community.

How do you like to travel?

I prefer to travel with busses and trains. Not only is it cheaper but it’s also more environmentally friendly.

What is your desired dorm size?

I prefer a dorm size of 4-6 people. It’s small enough to meet people and make close relationships but not so big that it becomes load and difficult to sleep at night.

What is one piece of advice for people wanting to travel?

Make sure you live in the moment. Allow yourself flexibility in your schedule, and be spontaneous.
