Q&A
What made you want to travel?
“I was inspired by my cousins at a young age. They made me realize I wanted to solo travel around Europe. Traveling was a big part of my family and childhood. We would go around on family vacations to watch the V8 super cars and other places around Australia and New Zealand. We traveled to Bali and Vanuatu, and I have been to Japan which really ciked of my solo adventures.”
Where has been your favourite place in Europe?
“I was riding my bicycle unknowing where I was going next, and whe nI looked down, I saw a Danish flag. After that I just knew that I was meant to visit Copenhagen, which was the best choice. Copenhagen had a nice viking feeling which I loved. Also, there happened to be a jazz festival happening at the same time. The night time photos, bike rides, and sleeping in a tent city that was inside a building, was unreal to me. I even met one of my best travel buddies there. It all strted with simple words of “Do you want to go for a beer?” The people I met there were good and chill people which matched my vibe.”
What has been the best thing you have eaten?
“Having prosciutto in a side ally restaurant with a friend on my last day in Rome.”
What is your favourite thing about The Pig?
“The Pig feels like family. Everyone here helps out and is in sync. It’s such a relaxed, chill and a social hostel. Being so close to the beach across the road, the locals coming in the evening and enjoying the pool table and daily activities just add to the family vibe. This has been the third time I’ve been to this hostel and it’s still the best hostel I’ve been to.”
How do you like to travel? (Planes, trains, busses…)
“Even though I have taken more flights than trains this year, trains are still better options. Taking trains around Europe gives you a chance to relax from the fast pace of travel and take in the country sides more than a flight would.”
What is your desired dorm size?
“Staying in a 6-bed dorm is my preferred stay space.”
What is one piece of advice you would give for people wanting to travel?
“Don’t plan more than a week ahead. Leave it open.”
