August in Noordwijk
July will be left behind soon and we will turn a new blank page for August to colour it with new adventures. Whatever those adventures will be, who knows, but I’ve got a list for you of the possible adventures that you could take part in around Noordwijk in August!
Summer market Noordwijk Aan Zee
Traditional summer market on the Hoodfstraat every Wednesday 10:00-18:00 until August 21st.
There you’ll find clothing, jewellery, home accessories and so much more. Walk through the main street of the town, admire the market stalls and visit the shops along the street.
Tourist market at Vuurtorenplein
This market is held every Sunday until September 1st 2024 at Vuurtorenplein, just next to the lighthouse at Noordwijk Aan Zee from 10:00 until 17:00. There you can find stalls following the latest fashion, the most beautiful accessories and tastiest snacks.
Weekly market at Noordwijk-Binnen
Every Thursday there’s a weekly market in Noordwijk-Binnen at Kloosterplein right next to the St. Jeroens church. The market is open from 8:00 until 17:00. The stalls offer fresh vegetables, meat, baked goods, sweets, fresh bread, clothes and different foods, without forgetting a Dutch delicacy – warm stroopwaffels.
Neighbours Festival Beach Party
August 24th is a Saturday and on that specific Saturday there’s going to be THE Party on the beach! The 10th anniversary of this beach party will be even better and bigger than before!
What would be better than having an endless summer day on the beach partying in the sun and then later seeing an amazing sunset while dancing in the sand to some house and techno music.

Cirque Des Dunes
Saturday 3rd of August Cirque Des Dunes is making a comeback. The performances will start around 18:30 in front of and around the dunes on the Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard in Noordwijk Aan Zee.
No matter if you’re young or old, entertainment is guaranteed! True spectacle indeed, where you’ll find fire, fireworks, acts in the air, special mobile acts, amusing clothing and technology which are creating a special outdoor theatre that you do not want to miss out! And the best part is that all this is completely free!
Old Jeroenskerk
This old gothic style church you can find from Noordwijk-Binnen. The church is from the 15th century and it is named after a martyr Jeroen. The tower of the church is decorated in a Romangothic style, it’s 40 meters high and has a spiral stone staircase with 110 steps. Visiting the church and climbing to the tower is possible on Saturdays until the end of September between 13:00-16:00. Visiting the church and tower costs 5€ for adults.
Lighthouse
Just around 300 meters from the hostel on Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard you can find the lighthouse of Noordwijk. This modern lighthouse is built in 1921 and it has 6 floors and 108 steps.
The lighthouse in Noordwijk is open until 30th of August form 11:00 until 16:00.
The entry fee for visiting the lighthouse is 3€.
